With Whom We Work
We understand that making the decision to work with a financial planning firm is a big one. Our goal is to welcome you and learn more about you and your goals. We are currently accepting NEW clients with a minimum of $500,000 of investable assets who seek wealth management services and ongoing portfolio monitoring to address their current needs along with their future financial planning needs.
*If you don't meet our minimum, we do offer an annual retainer fee of $4,000/yr. until your assets reach $500K.
Initial Meeting- 90 mins
Our initial meeting is a time for you to learn more about us-- who we are, our investment philosophy, how we are compensated, and address any other questions you may have. Once the initial meeting is scheduled, we send our data gathering forms and a checklist of information that we recommend you bring to our initial meeting. Many clients find that completing our new client packet is a great way to get their ducks in a row. Once you provide us with the requested information, we can spend our time together learning more about you, your goals, your family and your unique situation. We ask that you return the data gathering forms in advance of our initial meeting so that we may prepare. We recommend you bring the items from the checklist with you to our meeting. This way, if you decide to continue on, this will allow us to begin the process right away.
We see ourselves as educators first. We want to help make that initial meeting a learning experience that’s both informative and enjoyable, and from which you leave feeling empowered.
Meeting #2- 60 mins
Upon completion of our initial meeting, we encourage you to digest everything we discussed. If you choose to move forward, our team creates a comprehensive financial plan through a software called eMoney. This dynamic program will help illustrate our holistic approach by taking an in-depth look at your current financial situation, while allowing for multiple scenarios to demonstrate the impact of decisions on your future. If you have specific goals in mind, whether it be traveling before and during retirement or funding an education expense, we can project the likelihood of success and model potential adjustments if needed.
You leave meeting #2 with a summary of everything discussed as well as a recommended asset allocation for your portfolio and hypothetical retirement income projections.
The Ball Is In Your Court
At this point, we ask if you can see yourself developing an ongoing relationship with our team. If so, the next step would be to get together and walk you through the necessary paperwork to make our working relationship official and transfer your assets. We hold your hand throughout the process and work to make the transition as simple as possible. We make sure to update you along the way and help you gain online access to Charles Schwab’s Alliance website so you can also monitor the progress. In many cases, the assets are able to transfer within 10-15 business days from when you sign the paperwork. It’s important to us that you are comfortable with the process; we are here and happy to answer any questions along the way.
In the event you decide you do not want to continue a relationship, we will bill you a flat fee of $1,500 for the work completed up to this time.
Where Do We Go From Here?
We at BFPCC value our long lasting relationships and want to stay up to date with what is going on in your life. We proactively reach out to you every 6 months to schedule a portfolio review so we can determine if we need to re-balance your portfolio and to stay connected with what’s going on in your world. With BFPCC, you have a team that is committed to your financial confidence.
